End of season report for CSL Thistle div1

admin August 9, 2013 0

So the regular season has come to an end and we did ok for a team that has been together for one season with our new players from knox thistle.

So we ended up 2nd this season with winton winning the league for the 3rd season in a row, we had our chances but a few hicups on the way didnt help our push for the title with us drawing twice with southend utd and we had the chances to beat winton both times but couldnt get the goals!

we still have some silverware with us winning the pre-season cup and with the edingburgh cup starting on the 10th for us we hope to get more silverware for our club.

So heres some stats W9 D2 L3 goals for 51 against 20 nico and jp were joint goal scores with 13 each.

Id like to add some other wee things as well about some key players.. in defence richard chand, andrew crawford and brad winwood played very well and with andrews consistant good peformances and all 3s work loads kept us in some games.

Midfield.. jp was a stand out with his trademark frrekicks and pinpoint corners..joe also played well scoring most of his goals from jps crosses. mark lemon also has a mention with his high work rate.

Up front nico scored 13 goals but missed a few games but that didnt deter us has we had a few others that could play up front and they scored as well.

overall i was pleased with the 2nd place but next season we will aim for 1st as we know we can beat the teams around us but its putting the ball in the net more and tightning up at the back is where we will focus on next season.

I would also like to thank Mike and Kerry Wood from CSL our main sponsors and there support for the season.

and our supports wether it be wifes, partners or friends it helps us and we appreciate it thanks guys. also josh collins our main coach who trains us thanks mate.

To all my players thanks for playing and hope we can keep the same team and go on and win the league in 2014.

I said i wouldnt be looking after the team next season as i have moved just of town..but i might do it one more time we will see??
